Stereo Tool Question

Hi,

I’ve got an Intel Q6000 (Core 2 Quad) system with 6Gb of RAM and Win 7 Pro, running mAirList 5.x. I’m thinking of swapping my external processor, as much as I like the flashy lights, for Stereo Tools.

Has anyone got any experience with Stereo Tools, and will it running happily on that setup?

Thanks

Here runs mairlist on a q6600 with 4gb ram and a dsp with stereo tool. Works great.

Why not just give it a try?

Matt,
You should definitely go for Stereo Tool. It is as good as any high priced hardware box and very stable. Hans Van Zutphen is constantly improving it and some of his software is even used in the latest expensive Omnia processors (which are just PC’s by the way). PM me if you want more info about my setup.

Frank

Thanks for all your replies. I’ll PM you Crooze.

I would give it a try out the box, but the station went live last night at 3:20am.

Currently I’m using a Behringer MDX 8000, classic outboard kit that was formerly at an FM I do some work for.

They’ve since gone stereo tools too, but with an additional processor in the FM chain.

Hello,

can somebody post how we are supposed to add this stereo tool plugin? It works great in winamp but somehow I miss something on how to add it to Mair V5.

Thanks,
Kris

Hi kris,
In fact, it’s really simple.
Install StereoTool on you system. It will do that standard under a Winamp directory. Then just copy the file dsp_stereo_tool.dll from the Winamp folder into your mAirList Root Data Folder and then you can select StereoTool when you add a Soundprocessing plugin to your encoder as a Winamp Plugin.

When you see it written down like that it is indeed simple.

Thanks for the information!

I’m moving premises soon, and building a new studio. Stereo Tools is on my shopping list for a month or so time.

Well, along with an Airence-USB ;D

Okay, I’m getting nuts on this …
Copied the dll in the root folder ( C:\Program Files\mAirList 5.3 ) (and into the plugin folder) but still not a clue on getting this thing into action.

I’m missing what when I need to add the winamp plugin when I’m on the configuration - encoder - sound processing page?
I have the master page where I can click on add downmix - amplification - AGC - compressor - advanced compressor - Echo/delay ?

Feeling just like a idiot …
Kris

On the encoder is a tab soundprocessing klik on ad, link to the stereotool dll, that’s al

No “Winamp DSP” in that menu? Version and edition being used?

version 5.3.1 build 3248

Mind upgrading to the lastest 5.3 version (should be 5.3.11) first?

Aaaah sorry Torben … it is the last version was writing that down while at work … it is the latest from the website.

When you go to the config app, Advanced -> Modules, is “BassVST” in the list of enabled modules?

No, it is in the disabled tab.

That’ll be why then

Where do you find the ‘on’ button? :-[

As far as I’m aware the modules are control via the licence code, and therefore can’t be manually activated.

Although I’m sure Torben knows more, it’s his software.
