OK, i finally got the same infinite silence on my playlist even though i have a playlist full of songs and shows, what is going on? on the screen shots one can see that the playlist was created, but instead of loading a playlist, created a whole hour of silence. i don’t know what is going on. please help me.
For whatever reason, you have loaded the 2pm playlist while it’s still 1:07pm.
So mAirList playing 53 minutes of silence while waiting for the timed start of the 2pm list.
how is that possible? mairlist loads it automatically!
Your Event to load the playlist for the next hour started at 01.00. It’s better to load the playlist for the next hour before 01.00, say 00.55.
Lukeman is correct, that event scheduler will always load the next hour, not the current.
However, the steps I mentioned here: https://www.mairlist.com/forum/index.php/topic,8953.msg59421.html#msg59421 will cause the mAirList to open the current hours Playlist at the current point of time, when the program first launches. I setup this measure in case the computer power cycled for some reason, although I now have a UPS attached to it anyway.
All the steps that were adviced were implemented. To make it clear I was there at 12pm and saw the cycle to 1 pm, from 1p. To the silence. I took the screen shots, quit the software and restart with loaded the Playlist. I will try the 0:55 setting.
I can provide remote assistance via TeamViewer, to check things over. But, I do charge for my time for remote support.
I noticed that some shows and jingles for some odd reason didn’t have the duration time on description when they were imported. I did updated all the info, and will check if we have any issues.
Well, I’m having more of a consistent playlist with the advice given here. The event to load the playlist @ 55" was great. my mistake was at the beginning that i put 55’ instead of 55". So that in itself helped a lot. I’m still getting some random silence here in there, but i can’t pinpoint the error. I will report back if i can document it.
Is there any way to generate a monthly playlist? I have certain shows that i can program for up to 2 months, others 1 month. But doing 1 month will be great. I will do weekly updates on the shows that are not as advance as others.
Why when one generates a playlist a week from today (i.e. Friday) why it doesn’t generate the last day? i will love to generte til the last day. Is there any settings that can be adjusted?
Thanks team!
One week from Today includes the day you are currently on as day one, and then counts up to, and including 7 days. So it should give you a complete 7 days, or at least it does for me.
You can do a month or more generation, by selecting a custom date range in the playlist generator.
Any silence in your playlist could be down to not having enough tracks to fill the hour. I like to include a “Fill With Random Items” block at the end of my hourly templates, just in case there are not enough tracks to make up the whole hour. Some tracks on my system are 6 minutes long, but others are 3 to 4 minutes, so if an hour has more 3 minute long tracks than 6 it could run short, which is why I have a “Fill With Random Items” block at the end. It’s a fail safe.
[i]Update:
So far with all the advice i haven’t have any issues with the playlist.
My question is if i want to create a monthly playlist, how do i assigning week 1 show a, week 2 show a, week 3 show a, week 4 show a. Show a will be on each week at the same time, but each week will have a di9fferent show, is this possible?
thanks
Well personally with my show The Global House Party, I just replace the previous weeks show with the one for that week, and save the playlist once complete.
