I have posted sort of similar message some earlier in the forum, but unfortunattely noone responced.
This made me curious how you guys sove the next issue. Please think about it and maybe someone can tell me how to do this…
In Assist mode you can PFL each player seperatly. This is a pretty usual feature wich I guess everyone uses.
Now the issue is… you can’t do pfl each player seperatly in Auto mode. The only way you can do is by pressing right mousebutton and click pfl. Is there a way to prelisten a song wich will be played next?
I think more people want to pre listen the track that is ready?
Especially when using a mixer, the pfl function would be handy…
Hopefully someone would like to share their toughts on it?
Well,
Auto mode is used for starting the next song. So you not have to start all songs by hand.
If you see the big stations they combine auto and assist.
But they make a kind of hook wich makes a few songs start automaticly.
Sometimes the dj makes a handmade change in songs, sometimes the dj let the software do the work.
Offcourse it is weird if automation is played in 1 output. But when auto mode is played in several outputs it can be a handy feature.
Just was thinking out loud. Not all request should be implemented. I was more curious in toughts of users. Maybe I could learn from other users how they use auto and assist even when humans are around

Can u manualy make a link? Or even make all songs link and then use the break function to cut the links?

Actually Torben, when I’m linking two songs in v6.1 in Auto Mode, mAirlist freezes. When I do the same in v6.0 it doesn’t give a problem. Linking songs in Assist works fine by the way.
Lukeman, does this still happen in the most recent builds? I remember there was a bug in earlier betas.
RuVo80, basically you just click into the “Link” (rightmost) column, a link icon will appear and indicate that the next song will be started automatically just like in AUTO mode. You can link multiple songs, of course, building chains until your next “break point”.
Unfortunately yes, I’ve got build 3847. Bug has sneaked in again I guess.
I hardly ever use linking songs though, but was just playing around with v6.1 yesterday.
No, the entire screen freezes, no pop-ups, the current song will still be played until the end and then silence.
It happens when you double click the link column in Auto Mode in the latest v6.1 build.
Just restarted mAirlist but still no bugreport. If it shows up I will send it to you Torben.
I have been testing some things aswell.
And the software really crashes when have a link assigned to a track in auto mode.
after the song, the software freeses without any warning and the only solution is to restart the software.
I Have just send a bug repoort to torben. hopefully he can find a reason why the software freezes.
The download on the website isn’t really correct either, the changelog mentions build 3847, while the download contains build 3842. I have been trying to download it several times but after every installation the build is still 3842.
Maybe that is why somepeople have the problem and others who really use 3847 are not having this problem?

But still i have a question.
When you link songs, why are they played by the same player?
I am asking this because of my first question. Can i prelisten a song by using pfl button on the micing console?
When linking 2 songs, they 3th song will be loaded in the other player.
Is it possible to use both players in link? In automation mode you can set mairlist to use one player or all players. This is ignored in assist/link mode.
