Well it was basicly the idea of the link function to have them all running on the same Player.
So you can’t forget to rise the fader for the other Players and also you have them free for other workload. That is the same reason why Automation also uses only one Player by default setting.
You can pre-listen with the Mix Editor to make linked songs transition smooth, before they get aired.
