Video Playout

Do you think it’s possble to re-add video support

v 2.1.34
[*] Removed video support. Will be revisited at some point in the future.

v 2.1.32
[*] Updated video support, requires GMFBridge. Very experimental. Do not use

Or this is realy abborded?

That was merely a test, and it turned out that video is a different kettle of fish. mAirList is a radio automation software.

but I think and BBC demonstrate it actualy, whit the new support to broadcast radio (internet, iphon, iptv …) the video (a litle) it’s necesary

BBC tell this “visual radio” and RTL it tel this radiovizion

lokk exemple, it’s realy interesting

The examples you mentioned are both achieved through a special player (Flash? Silverlight? whatever) that displays the video (studio cam) or pictures (“now playing”) on the client side. The radio automation software does not handle the video, it just plays audio, and on the user’s player, everything is put together.

Remember, this is radio, and not TV.

Any other mAirList competitors you would like to advertise?

Sorry Torben. I have removed my earlier post.

It would have been ok to mention that Autoplus offers a TV automation software, but the way you wrote it was a little inappropriate for this forum.

My apologies again.

  1. The BBC’s ‘visual radio’ is still in development and is not a standard BBC service at present. Your screenshots are demo. pictures and not representative of the current BBC iPlayer radio player.

  2. Even in the beta tests of ‘visual radio,’ the BBC’s playout system did not generate the video. The video feed for the beta test browser app. came from cameras and a (human!) vision mixer in the radio studio.

  3. There are already many automation apps. for video playout. Try DVPlay Lite or OtsAV TV if you want to automate video playout but, as Torben said, mAirList is radio automation sofware.
