Upgrading From 5.2 to 5.3

Hi There

We are going to upgrade our playout PC from 5.2 to 5.3 and just wondered if it’s just a case of just installing 5.3 over 5.2 ?

How does licensing work on an upgrade ?

Will our current settings and configs , Cartwalls all be retained?

Sorry if it’s a simple question but I just want to make the transition as painless as possible

5.3 will install as a separate application. This is so you can thoroughly test the setup while keeping the old version intact.

Install 5.3, activate it, then run the configuration app - it will prompt you to copy over the config from the old version. (If there is no automatic prompt, you can find this function under Advanced -> Upgrade.)
