Stream Deck - misconfiguration thing

Hi everyone,

I have a small issue with installing the mAirList plugin for Elgato Stream Deck.

I wanted to install the Stream Deck remote control plugin on a computer where mAirList is used. During the remote control/plugin configuration inside mAirList, the program asked me which software I wanted to install the plugin to.

At that moment, I did not realize that the Elgato Stream Deck software was not installed on that computer yet, so I accidentally selected mAirList.exe instead.

After that, I installed the Elgato Stream Deck software properly, but the Stream Deck application still does not see the mAirList plugin.

I also tried uninstalling mAirList and reinstalling it to a different folder, but the Stream Deck software still does not show the mAirList plugin.

Is there a way to manually install the mAirList Stream Deck plugin into the Elgato Stream Deck software?

Or maybe there is some registry entry, configuration file, or saved path inside mAirList that I can delete/reset, so that the plugin installation can be triggered again and installed to the correct Stream Deck plugin folder?

Any advice would be appreciated.

I found a solution, so I’ll post it here in case it helps someone else.

The plugin can be downloaded from GitHub:

https://github.com/mairlist/mairlist-streamdeck-plugin

Then it can be installed manually into the Elgato Stream Deck software:

  1. Download and unzip:
mairlist-streamdeck-plugin-master.zip
  1. Inside the extracted folder, find:
com.mairlist.automation.sdPlugin
  1. Completely close the Elgato Stream Deck software.

  2. Open:

%appdata%\Elgato\StreamDeck\Plugins
  1. Copy the whole folder:
com.mairlist.automation.sdPlugin

directly into the Plugins folder.

The final path should look like this:

C:\Users\YOUR_USER\AppData\Roaming\Elgato\StreamDeck\Plugins\com.mairlist.automation.sdPlugin
  1. Start the Stream Deck software again.

After that, the mAirList category should appear in the Stream Deck action list, with actions like Cart Player and Execute Command.

Important: the .sdPlugin folder must be copied directly into the Plugins folder, not inside another subfolder.

Hi,

what you describe is the correct way for manually installing the plugin. This should work, yes.

However, we also ship the bundled (zipped) version of the plugin along with the mAirList installation, it should be located in the mAirList program folder, called com.mairlist.automation.streamDeckPlugin.

It should be succifient to double-click the file, and the Stream Deck software should unzip it in the correct location.

Hi Torben,

has this important hint ever been published here before? I can’t recall this installation method ever being discussed on the forum.

I’d appreciate it if you or a member of your team could post a (brief!) guide on this in the Documentation section of the forum.
After all, that’s what this section of the forum is for, isn’t it?

Thank you in advance.

It is actually exactly what the “Install plugin” button in the config app does, so there should be no need to ever do it manually.

I just posted it here as background information, to help @imilkovic troubleshoot the issue.

That may have caused the misunderstanding.

Interesting.
It seems that this remote is intended for the Advanced edition or higher. I couldn’t find it in the Home Studio edition on my laptop. I think I installed it on the other licence without that button when the integration was brand new. I haven’t touched it since.

Thank you for the info. I will set up a clean installation and try it there.

By the way, isn’t the StreamDeck missing from the feature matrix?
