It always seems to load the first song onto the decks fine. But once I try and drag another onto the other deck it reports that error. Likewise with the audio wall. Loads one sweeper fine, two… error.
It’s really strange and I cant seem to find a solution anywhere. If anyone can help, i’d be very greatful. im New to mAir list, so you’ll have to bear with me.
There is most likely an error with the DirectShow/ACM codec installed on your system. The original codec from Windows works very fine, but some 3rd-party software installs their own codecs some of which are known to be broken. This is e.g. the case with BPM Studio.
I suggest that you reinstall a proper codec, for example by downloading the “K-Lite Codec Pack”.
although mAir is running fine, I get these popup messages that I cant make any sense of.
Can you shed some light on this?
I had a play with it, these error pops seem to just happen at random. There does not seem to be any one thing thats causing it. But usually seem to happen half way through a track. I don’t know if that helps…
After you installed mAirList.map, the error message/call stack should contain references to the source code. Please post it again then.
Please note that I’m only offering very little support for the old v2.2 version now. If the error cannot be fixed easily, I might just ask you to upgrade to v3.0 instead (it’s worth the money!).
The Error 44 is definitely related to a defect MP3 codec in your system. Usually, reinstalling Media Player or a codec pack solves the problem. There’s also a suitable LAME codec available, perhaps it’s worth to give that one a try: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/LAME_ACM_Codec.htm
The ordinary BASS.DLL has an MP3 decoder included, but I cannot distribute that version, because I would have to pay royalties to the MP3 patent holders, which are a minimum (!) of $15,000 (!) a year (!). This is why mAirList comes with a special version of BASS which does not have its own MP3 decoder but uses the MP3 codec from your Windows system (which is already licensed and free to use by all installed software). Unfortunately, as pointed out above, some applications replace the default codec with their own which has bugs or does not work well with other applications. This “misbehavior” is from the old days of Windows 2000 when the default codec provided by Microsoft had a few bugs, e.g. failed to play VBR files correctly, so some vendors decided to install their own codec, which was again defect in some cases. Recent Windows versions - in particular with a Media Player update - have a perfectly working default MP3 codec, so unless you installed some “misbehaving” 3rd-party software bringing its own codec (e.g. BPM studio), everything should be fine.
I cannot really comment on the “integer overflow” error without seeing the detailed call stack first. The error addresses suggest that it happened when the remaining time of some item was calculated to display it in the player GUI, and it might be related to a broken cue point value in one of your files. Perhaps you remember which files you played, and you can try with the same files again.
In any case, I haven’t heard of such an error in v3.0, so I strongly assume that it’s a v2.2 issue only. In case it’s still there, mAirList 3 does include a much better bug reporting tool which will send the required information (error address, call stack, etc.) directly to my e-mail address as an error occurs.
Demo versions (running for 30 minutes) are available on the download page, and you can also register at the customer area to get your own 14-day unlimited trial version.
