sound cards

Hi, At my old station, when we installed Myriad we had to buy a special sound card that had multiple wave devices routing to one physical output so as one cart faded and the next started there was a smooth audio transition between the two. Would we need one of these cards to avoid the same problem with Mairlist v5?
Also, is the a version of the Intelligent Voice Processor for v5 yet?
Thanks.

In mAirList, you can easily have multiple players use the same sound card output (Windows audio device) at the same time. No need for a special sound card.

Don’t know if anyone ported IVP to v5 yet.

I use Berhinger UCA202 USB sound cards for each Player, + one for the cart wall. Each going to a separate fader on the mixer. I use the PC’s in-built sound output for PFL and I have the added advantage of an output from my HDMI monitor. All can be setup from within mAirList. Advantage with my setup is that I can leave the player fader open and switch to PFL with one button on my mixer.
Care should be taken with the USB power needed to supply the cards, but a powered hub will sort that.
I used to thin Myriad V3.x was the best, but not now!

Thanks for the info, think I will have to invest in some 202 cards!

I have recommended the Berhinger cards to several people now with good feedback from them. One tip to help setup in mAirlist, is to go into Windows setup, sound, properties, and give each device a meaningful name e.g. Playout A
