Me again,
I have posting a topic in both mAirList 4.x & scripts asking about if it is possible to automatically dipping a song when a sweeper, jingle or drop is played. either by reading an attribute or using a dedicated player.
But yes, it can do that. HOWEVER, you have to process the playlist using IVP before you play it. It can’t duck on-the-fly in the way you suggest. To do that, you would have to use the Mix Editor and draw an envelope. If you’ve ever used audio mixing software, you’ll be right at home. 8)
Not even a dedicated player will do it. All IVP does is add envelopes, same as you could do manually. There’s no ‘magic bullet’ within mAirList for ducking automatically.
I’m not sure if this is exactly what you want, but there may be a way.
Pick a jingle or sweeper and open it’s properties in mairlist dB. On the playback tab enter an “execute command” in the actions on start e.g. Player 1-1 Volume -20. In the actions on Stop add Player 1-1 Volume 0
You could also use mp3 Gain and reduce the perceived volume without physically having to change the file in Adobe http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/. It reduces the output volume of the file.
