Socket Error 10061

Studio server → Professional Edition with license → PostgreSQL
Remote studio Advanced Home Edition (license)

When I try to connect to the studio from home I get a socket error #10061.

server

remote. x.x.x.x.x for privacy reasons

On the server side I have added firewall rules for both ports 8840 and 9840.
The modem/router has port forwarding.

I am able to ping the server IP address from the remote location.
But still no access.
Perhaps there is something I’m missing here?
Do I need to create SSL certiticates? Even if I connect on 8840?

Also in the Windows firewall of the server?

No, only for the SSL-Port (9840)

Yes, also in the Microsoft Firewall. I even disabled the firewall all together to see what is going on here.

Silly question: But the DBServer really runs in the background on the server, doesn’t it? Is there anything conspicuous in the log?

Oeeehhhhh not sure.
Database setup is PostgreSQL. I kinda figured that when I can access the database to edit my music database the server is running. I guess it’s not.
How do I start the DBserver?

Windows-Search: mAirList
and then it should show up.

YES!!! that’s it. So I guess it’s not a silly question after all
Thank you so much!

Is there an option to rename the database on my end? remote.
I now have two databases both named database.
My own and the remote.

Yes, here you go:

Control Panel → Databases → Select database → Configure/double-click → Advanced → User-defined name

Yes, that helps.
A new problem arises.
I can access the database from my remote location. /
But on the server side it now says DATABASE NOT CONNECTED.

Can you restart the mAirList instance on your server? Then it should work again in most cases.

Yes, problem fixed.
So now I will re-enable the windows firewall, see how that goes.
Do I need to enable both UDP and TCP? or just TCP?

TCP should be completely sufficient here. This is what it looks like for me (Windows Firewall):

And the rest can stay that way. Of course, click on “Allow connection” and “Activate” at the very front.

Thank you very much! I have been going over this for hours.
And this fixed it. Now I can work from here.
