Sending track info to server

With my setup I use 2 pc’s, one for mairlist playout and the other has the encoder. The audio from the playout goes via a mixing console into a hardware compressor/limiter and then into the pc with the encoder.
What I’m trying to find out if there is a way to send the playing track info (artist and title) from within mairlist without it affecting the main encoder I use? Is there a script that does it, or would I need to use the built-in encoder for streaming?

There’s two possible solutions:

  1. Add a Shoutcast or Icecast logging interface in mAirListConfig -> Logging, so that mAirList updates the track info on its own.

  2. In case the encoder software on the second PC supports that, let mAirList write a log file with the current artist title (Logging -> Add -> Log File, check the “overwrite each time” option), which the encoder software reads and processes. I think Edcast and Simplecast support this.

Thanks Torben…I totally forgot about the logging option. I knew I had used it before…I think moving house is making me loose the power of thought! ::slight_smile:
