In addition to commercial blocks we have infotainment blocks. These blocks are scheduled at fixed times. The blocks contain multiple agenda items to inform the listeners of the activities in their city. The number of agenda items may differ in each block.
What is the best way to schedule this type of infotainment? Maybe we can use the advertisement planner, but this is not a perfect fit, since an agenda item doesn’t have a campaign associated with it; it can change daily.
In addition I’m also not sure what kind of ‘item type’ we should use. Currently we’re using Custom1, but this is not ideal, since it doesn’t really describe the purpose of the item. Something like ‘infotainment’ would be more appropriate. Perhaps I’m missing something, but I cannot find a type fit for this purpose.
They can be inserted in the scheduler as a container, with only one (next) item of the sub-playlist or by inserting the whole sub-playlist for that hour.
Advantage:
You can set different sub-playlists for different hours.
If needed, there’s an option in the scheduler to re-use the Sub-Playlists with an offset setting in the scheduler
The playlists can be pre-made long time before the broadcast date
You can use voice-tracking and/or using elements from the database in an ordered way
Thanks Stefan, I will try it, although something tells me the commercial planner would be a better fit. To make it work I need optional items in the hour template for the sub playlist. Not all blocks contain the same number of items each time and I don’t want to edit the subplaylist all them time manually.
