Schedule event containing jingle and song

I am testing:

  • a fixed jingle and a fixed song (several choices but always the same combination)
  • to be played at soft time: 18:30 hour and 19:30 hour

I can put the jingle and the song in a container. How to best schedule this container in the playlist (event? action?) or better suggestion?

Perhaps save the container as a playlist and then schedule as an event?

Perhaps save the container as a playlist and then schedule as an event?

Yes, but…is it possible to schedule an Event as a soft timed action (e.g. when the song played at 18:30 and 19:30 hour is finished, then the Event kicks off)? I will have to create several containers.

Are you using mAirListDB?

Torben, I am using mAirListDB Local Mode.

Have you discovered the Opener ID and Closed ID options in the hour template configuration?

Recipe:

  • Add jingle to mAirListDB, write down its ID.

  • Create a folder and add the songs to it.

  • Add a new “Random item from folder” entry to the template, edit its properties, and enter the jingle ID as the Opener ID. Also check the option that says “Create a container…”.

  • Finally, in the properties dialog, make the item fixed, set timing to “soft” and enter “00:30:00” as the fixed time (it’s relative to the top of the hour).

In the current version you have to “guess” where to put the item into the template so that it doesn’t play too early, but doesn’t skip any songs either (creates no overlaps or underruns). This will be addressed in a future version.

Thanks Torben, will try this
