Schedule an immediate play in Assist mode

Hello,

Sorry for the barrage of questions on the forum. I’ve tried looking through the extensive PDF manual and Wiki but can’t find the answers to my questions.
My radio station has made the switch to mAirList and I’m coming from Zara and still learning.

In ZaraStudio I could schedule a song to play at a certain time immediately regardless if there was anything playing at the time.
I use this option to ensure my songs finished on a natural fade on the hour. It was simple and worked.

Finding mAirList a little more challenging (but I’m a newbie ;))

I have found that if mAirList is in AUTO mode it has the same effect as ZaraStudio.
But, in ASSIST mode I can’t replicate the desired effect. I can see the event in the small window, but when the time comes it just pops the song into the playlist.
Is there a way to have an event (song) play immediately in ASSIST mode regardless if something is playing?

I like the concept of linking audio in Assist mode which doesn’t work in Auto mode.

Thank you once again, I appreciate any help.

Hi Tuesdaydrive,
this is something you typically would do in the program planning not as an event.

Basically the modes do what they are named at. Assist: Assists the Host to play the music but rely on that person to keep the schedule and usualy this person does not want to have an interruption by suddenly starting music in the middle of a talk. Automation: Runs all automated and unattended.
Also I don’t think you want to play striclty Ballroom an each top of the hour and you also don’t want to create 24*7=168 of such events for each hour of a week and again for the next week.

What you want to use in this case is a backtimed element. That will be planned to end right on top of the hour to launch news in time for example or even the commercials right before the TOTH.
This is something the mAirlistDB can do for you by planning the hour clock by just templates.
