Hi,
I have a quick question about the new Mix Editor behavior in mAirList v8.
Let’s say my playlist is originally like this:
Song 1
Song 2
Song 3
Then in the Mix Editor I change the mix so that Song 2 is effectively moved behind Song 3, so the playback order becomes:
Song 1
Song 3
Song 2
After that, I see a new right-arrow icon in the playlist.
What I’m trying to understand is:
-
Will mAirList really play the items in the order 1, 3, 2?
-
How will those items be logged afterwards?
-
Will the log reflect the actual playback order, or the original playlist order?
-
Is there anything important to know before using this feature more often?
I just want to be sure I understand how this works in practice, especially regarding playback order and logging.
Thanks!

Additionally, I realized I may have misunderstood another important part of this feature.
What confused me even more is that it seems items can be underlined / linked in such a way that, for example, Song 1 can be followed by Song 3, while Song 2 is still played afterwards. In that situation, the playlist appears to skip all underlined items, and I only see the next non-underlined sequential items in the visible playlist. However, the player still plays those underlined items correctly.
At that point, I can no longer clearly see those items in the playlist, in the player, or in the Mix Editor, yet they still seem to be executed. In some cases, it almost looks as if several of those linked items are effectively running in parallel, while only the item currently active in the player is actually logged.
So I am clearly missing something here: what is the intended logic behind this behavior, why do those reordered items seem to disappear from the normal visible playlist flow, and why does it feel like items are no longer executed strictly one after another in the order I see on screen?
From an operational point of view, this also seems like it could make it easier to create a wrong mix by accident, which is why I would like to better understand the intended workflow and any limitations or safeguards around it.
One additional question:
Is it possible to disable this kind of item reordering / linking in the Mix Editor entirely?
For example, if I have:
Song 1
Song 2
Song 3
is there any way to prevent a situation where Song 1 can be dragged or effectively moved behind Song 2 or Song 3?
In other words, can the Mix Editor be restricted so that items can only be mixed in their normal sequential order, without allowing this kind of reordering at all?
