Production Work Place

In my homestudio I have the presenters wokplace with two screens operating Mairlist. On the other side of the studio we have the producer/side-kick. What we want to achieve is a possibilty to search for music track and load that in the Playlist ready to be aired when need to be.

How could we achieve this? Second PC? Database server and Client?

Any thoughts?

Cheers Wilbert

Quick question. Should the host and producer/ side kick work in mAirlist playout view simultaneously?

Afaik you can not change the playlist from the database once loaded into the playout. (If I’m wrong, please let me know… I have some usecases that I’d like to try)

Good evening @Mongstaen It is possible to change the playlist once loaded in the mAirList plaqy out view: you can drag and drop items from the database into the playlist. Not sure it this is intended what you want to do.

If you make changes in the current database playlist, you have to load the current playlist again (not recommended).

Hello @WilbertFM The best way to do this is to use a PostgreSQL database like MariaDB to store and change the database. For the Side Kick, you will need a second PC AND a extra mAirList licence for this PC. Both PC’s connect to the same networked database. Works like a charm.

Hey Adriaan,
Sorry I meant amending the playlist from a remote computer via the database  not possible with auto update afaik.

Of course you could drag and drop as you mention

You are well aware of PostgreSQL and MariaDB being two very different items?

No, I wasn’t. Thanks. What I ment is a database accesible via the network.

Yes, it would be cool if the Producer adds music on the fly in the playlist.

That is what I thought but can you then, on the fly, change something in the active playlist. (Someone has a request, producer searched for it in the dBase and loads it, preferably in one of the players). Grazie in advance…
