The new V5 is very powerful. I’m looking at the new “Mini Scheduler” with it’s separate hour templates and music templates. In previous builds, the scheduler was somewhat limited, so a 3rd party scheduler was necessary for advanced scheduling. But with V5, is a 3rd party scheduler even necessary? It seems that the scheduler is now very mature and advanced. Is it time to change the name of the “Mini Scheduler” to simply “Scheduler.”
Also, I’ve read that files imported in various formats (mp3, mp2, etc) will now automatically decode to .wav files during import so that all file formats are consistent. Is this correct?
The available set of rules is still somewhat limited, compared to professional schedulers like MusicMaster. But for most people, the internal scheduler should produce satisfactory results. If you need more power, you can still plug in an external scheduler later.
When you use the “Synchronize” feature to add files to your library (scan a storage), mAirList will never convert any files.
Only when you go the “Add files…” way (where files are copied into the storage and added to the library at the same time), you can opt to convert them to a particular format.
