I just bought a used POS keyboard on eBay. It has a PS2 connection, but I will be using a USB adapter so that it can be plugged into my laptop.
What setting do I select on the ‘remote control’ section of config to enable me to use this?

“Hotkeys” or “system-wide hotkeys”.
mAirList does not see the POS keyboard as a separate device. It only receives keystrokes, from any keyboard, and cannot tell if it’s from the regular keyboard, a POS keyboard, a USB numpad etc.
Usually these POS keyboards have some sort of configuration tool that you can use to set up “unusual” key combinations for the POS keys, e.g Ctrl+Alt+Shift+F1 etc., something you wouldn’t use on the regular keyboard normally. So you use the keyboard configuration tool to set up these unusual combinations, and then use the same combinations in the mAirList hotkey setup. Done.
