Out of memory error

Hello, we’re running vers.5.3 and have been getting an ‘out of memory’ error lately that freezes playback, I’m sorry I haven’t managed to send a bug report someone always managed to close the message first, but can I send you the system log file?
Thank you, Alex

Hi Alex, welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately v5.3 isn‘t supported anymore officially, there’re two full new versions out since 2019, when the last changes to v5 were published.

There were a lot of fixes fixes of code and many improvements in v6 and the newest v7 (out for 3,5 years now) regarding „out of memory“ errors, that can‘t and won’t be implemented in v5.

Please write to support@mairlist.com to get (paid) support for your problem or to sales@mairlist.com for a fair quote to upgrade to the newest v7…

Hello @Stefan_Hillen and @Torben

I couldn’t find a message that this was officially told like with v4:

My proposal: Move the v5 parts of the forum to the archive. This avoids misunderstandings.
Thank you.

Please look for a file named bugreport.txt in the mAirList folder in C:\ProgramData (not Program Files!). If the error message is dismissed, there is a good chance that the bug was recorded there. If you find the file, send it to suppor†@mairlist.com for further inspection.

But as Stefan said, v5 has not been supported anymore for a while, and if it’s actually caused by a bug in the software (and not configuration), I wouldn’t be able to provide a fix anymore as the development environment has long been abandoned (newer compiler version etc.).

So you should really consider to move to a modern version. I will send you a quote by e-mail.

Thanks Torben, I’ll attach the bug report for what it’s worth and will look out for the quote for an upgrade. Thanks for your help, Alex

Bummer

Thanks Torben, I’ll attach the bug report for what it’s worth and will look out for the quote for an upgrade.

Thanks, I received the report. It seems to be related to the Axia ASIO driver. Is there any particular reason you are using a mixed ASIO/DirectSound setup?

Also be aware that your version is 5.3.0, and there have been several maintenance releases after that. The latest version of the 5.3 branch you can use with your license is 5.3.17.

Thanks Torben, no that’s a mistake I can see PFL has been set to direct sound I’ve changed that to ASIO now, could that have caused the error?

Thanks also for mentioning the maintenance releases, how do I install those?

Download the latest release here, stop every mAirList process and start the .exe-installer.
