Multi Instance option issue second stream playlist

Hi Torben

Quistion regarding the Multi Instance option in Mairlist 4. Stream 1 is running smootly but when i want to start Mairlist what i put in a second folder in windows 2003 server. Question regarding the playlist option. Do i need to set up a sepparate database in Postgress, or can i use the second option in the playlist for this as well . Like i have the master playlist and the second playlist for stream 2 . What i can see though when i do this when i start the playlist in to the main player i do see errors
See screendump

You have to add a new “Station” in mAirListDB -> Admin -> Configuration. Then restart all instances.

For the second instance, go to the database connection config in mAirListConfig and set the station ID to 2 (or whatever the ID of the new station is).

I did this , I have also to tried to make a new database, followed the steps of the manual again but when i try to login in to the database i recieve the following error
Followed it by step by step. What must i do to make it work a sepperate database for my 2nd stream.
i did choose the database owner name stream see personal mail to torben as owner the beat
coding utf8

That is the same as it is in the database of stream 1 so i find it little bit strange that i am not be able to log in at all

The error message simply means that the password for the SQL user is wrong.

Of course, the PostgreSQL connection parameters (host, user, password) must be the same as with the first instance. Just double-check that all parameters, in particular the password, are correct.

Alternatively, you can just copy over the database configuration from the first instance (I assume at this point that the database is running fine in the first instance):

Run mAirListConfig for the first instance, go to Advanced -> Data Folders, open the configuration folder, and look for the database.ini file. Copy the file to the config folder of the second instance. If you used the ZIP distribution for the second instance, this is simply the config subfolder inside the program folder.

The start the second instance and confirm that the database works fine. It will still point at the first station at this point, so you will see the playlists for the first instance.

Finally, close the second instance again, run mAirListConfig, go to Databases -> mAirListDB -> Advanced tab, and under “Default Station”, click Select and choose the second station that you have added as described in my first reply above.

Done

Works but stills seeing the erros in the playlist part of the player, when i edit the overlaps in to the data base the wave form is there and be able to hear the music over my vpn connection.

I need to know the error message, or I won’t be able to help.

Turn on automation and watch the system log, it will display the error message for each skipped item. You can copy the log messages to the clipboard with Strg+C and paste them here.

Ok

Here the screendump from the main playlist, when i click on auto the plalist dissapear. Where can i find the log messages from mAirlist.

“Can’t find a free sound driver”. That means that the soundcard is already in use. Perhaps the player audio output configuration is wrong?

By the way, the log messages are displayed in the status line at the bottom of the window (as seen in the screenshot), and when you double-click that area, the System Log window will open where you can inspect older messages.

Ok running now

It is running now under the encoder . I do not see an issue any more. Keep the post open for another 24 hrs

Thanks
