Mix Editor: Cue Points not stored

Last weekend I recorded a great 4 hours Christmas program. Using mAirList 4.3.9 build 1877 Mix Editor, I placed songs and voice tracks and saved/stored them.

During play out, all Cue Points are ignored. Have to correct them manually in Mix Editor after loading. Don’t know what causes this.

Torben, can you have a look at this? Would prefer if I push Green Arrow in Mix Editor that Cue Points are stored right away.

Did you use the Mix Editor from (a) the Database application/playlist or (b) the playout window?

If (b), what format did you save the playlist in when you were done?

Torben, I always prepare and load the playlist in the Play Out Window (b).

I save the playlist as: mAirList single playlist (*.mlp)

Excuse but feel the need to kick this topic.

Today again I noticed that Cue Points prepared in the Mix Editor are not stored when using the Green Arrow within the Mix Editor and saving the playlist immediately afterwards.

The playlist is prepared in the Play Out Window, I save the playlist as: mAirList single playlist (*.mlp).

Anyone have the same experience? Or even better: a solution? Please!

Using mAirList 4.4.3 build 2064

There is no magic in the Mix Editor - all it does it adjusting the cue markers of the tracks envolved.

I would try to reproduce the issue as follows:

  1. Put two tracks in the playlist.

  2. Open the Cue Editor for either item, note their initial Cue In, Start Next, Fade Out values.

  3. Open the Mix Editor, adjust mix, save.

  4. Open Cue Editor again and confirm that the cue markers have changed according to what you did in the Mix Editor.

  5. Save playlist in .mlp format.

  6. Open .mlp file in a text editor, and check the cue markers in the XML - you should see the exact same values as above.

  7. Reopen .mlp file, check markers in the Cue Editor again, should still be the same.

Following these steps, it should be very easy to find out at which stage the markers get “lost”. Only if you can reproduce the problem, of course.
