Nice to come back on this community. I’ve just bought mAirlist to make me up-to-date with the “new mAirlist”. I’d never tested the v3 one. Only the v2.
So, I will create scripts, GUI interface and so on. I read lot of topics from January, 2009 until now. But I have some questions about layout. I want to begin by create a bi-monitor layout before starting to configure all the features I want mAirlist to do.
Is there some new screenobjects ? I downloaded the v3.1 beta version and find “button” : wonderful. What are the keywords related to “button” screenobject (Torben, FontColor doesn’t work on this kind of object) ?
Moreover, are the background color of the playlist, and/or the cartwall, and/of the toolbar, always defined by the windows OS colors (in screen settings) ? For example, I would create a layout with a grey background. When I put the items (playlist, cartwall and toolbar), are their background colors transparent ? sticked by the windows OS colors ? customisable by the ini configuration files ?
Thanks ! I will be able to start my studies about mAirlist v3 ^^
I’m very happy ;D
Screen objects are somewhat upgraded in V3. Create them using the config program, then look in the config files and you will find the names of the Font Colours; but you can change things like font colours and background colours in config anyway. So for things like ‘button:’ just create one and set up as much as you can in config, then check the ini files.
As far as I know, it’s not possible for mAirList objects (like the playlist, players, and cartwall players) to have any transparency. I think I’m right in saying that the ‘main background’ is defined by the Windows system colours unless you use a background bitmap (but I may be wrong about that!).
For button screenobject, do you think image could be apply to the background ? I think it doesn’t, but I hope it does ^^. I would like to change the background color in fact…
“Unless you use a background bitmap”… what do you mean about it ? Is there any way to modify the “main background” without changing the windows system colors ?
The screen objects can be coloured within the Config program - the buttons seem to be standard controls and it doesn’t look like you can do much with their look/feel - of course they can be programmed to run an Action, Script, File etc
The drag ‘n’ drop layout designer makes things a lot easier now, too.
The new “Button” object cannot be colored because it is a Windows system object - coloring buttons hasn’t been possible since the introduction of the themes functions in Windows XP.
On the mAirList site, there is a screenshot of a layout using an image at the bottom of this page:

Thank Cad : it’s my layout template ^^ I sent it to Torben few month ago.
I knew that I can stickan image to main mAirlist Background… I was wondering if we could stick an image to screenobject background ?
The drag’n’drop is wonderful : lot easier, you’re right Charlie
Torben, so, if I want the button to be colored to fit my need, I should modify windows system settings and it’ll work fine ?
I’m pretty sure that you can change the color through the system settings, but probably only for all buttons in all applications at the same time.
I’m very sorry that the coloring doesn’t work with theming. The only thing I could do about it is to implement my own button class, but that’s a lot of work, in particular when you want to have things like animation (changing the border) when pressing the mouse button etc.
Not necessary Torben. It’s quite useless at the moment… I will modify my windows system settings. No matter if all the windows and button will be colored …
