mAirlist and behringer dx2000usb setup

Hello fellow Dj’s/producers,

I have recently found out about mAirlist. It is so far the best and advanced radio broadcasting program i have ever seen! I’m currently using an outdated behringer UB1832FX. I’m planning on buying the behringer DX2000, for my online radio what i’m setting up. I have noticed that all the videos on youtube are in german (ofcource). I’m trying to find out how i can configure the DX2000 with mAirlist so that hot and faderstart work on for instance line 3 and 4 of the panel, and my jingles are on for instance line 5 of the DX2000 via the cartwall. Also, i have seen a red - yellow - green light been used for when 'on-air’and when broadcasting.

If you could be so nice to help me configure the DX2000 and giving me some more information on how everything really works including the lamp.

Regards,

Samuel

Welcome Samuel-

I can’t help you with your specific question. But since you’re new to mAirList, I would suggest that you first download the manual and look through that. There is a wealth of info there, and it may answer many of your questions.
(Note-The V3.1 manual is also used for V4)

Hi Samuel
Alec makes a good suggestion with regard to the manual.
The DX2000 is a good mixer, with plenty of input and output capabilities.
The videos you see on youtube look really impressive, but all usually require significant modifications inside the DX2000.
If you are a competent electronics person, no problem. However, the manufacturer will not then honour any warranty, as it has been modified.

Hello guys,

Ok, thanks for the information. Could you tell me where I can find the hardware/configuration section in the manual? Thanks again for the info

Regards,

Samuel

Hello Samuel,

When you want to use the button-start on a DX-2000 you need something like a Velleman Kit. This Kit has a .dll file which you can load at the startup of mAirlist. I had a friend who build the Velleman Kit in DX-2000. He told me that he made an modification on the PCB with the buttons, because the DX-2000 pulse signal wasn’t quit right. I don’t know if this was just a specific problem for my DX our a problem in general for all DX-000.

This is what you need

I quite better if he uses the Welleman kb8055 kit as mAirlist Is done to work with it. I had long ago DX2000 with a Welleman in other automation working good. With mAirlist will be 100% satisfaction Guaranteed.

Hi,
I have used the Behringer 2000 with the Velman kit for a number of years. The Velman is available ready built for a little more money. Some 1/4" jacks to the buttons on the front of the mixer to the Velman box and a USB lead do the job perfectly. To make fader start on the mixer is tricky and expensive as the faders have to be totally replaced with special switched versions and lots of wiring and extra sockets. A Velman kit is also required.
mAir list contains all the configuration that is needed to opperate.
On the mixer I have 1 mike channel + 1 spare. one PFL, one for the carts and 2 playouts. The PFL is routed through a mixer channel but the fader is not used, the red PFL button left on. Then i simply switch between main & PFL with one button.
I use Behringer UCA202 USB sound cards, again configarable in windows/mAirlist and works in Windows 10
I have used this kit for the last 3 1/2 years and i’m happier with this than other more expensive kit at other stations ive worked on.

@bulldogdave “The Velman is available ready built for a little more money”

Please, tell me, where Can I find that kit box already done for sale?

Thanks.

Hi Velman kits are available in the UK from Maplins or direct http://www.velleman.co.uk/contents/en-uk/d2_kits.html Ebay also has various sellers. Outside of UK give it a Goodle.
VM110N is the ready made module. However either should be put into an ABS box. Forget the software that comes with the module as is just for experimenting. m-Airlist has all thats necessary to work, and can be fully configured to start, stop/start etc.

Fader start is not available as standard with the Behringer, and fader with switches are getting scarce as things go digital in mixing desks. Charlie David still lists conversion, but last time we spoke he was having problems obtaining pots.
A 6.25 jack to the Velleman will be required for each button (up to max inputs available). The power on the mixer needs to be on for the buttons to work.

I have used this setup for over 3 years with now problems
Have fun

Hey man, thanks for the answer

“WE CURRENTLY ONLY SHIP TO THE UK (inc CHANNEL ISLANDS & THE ISLE OF MAN) & IRELAND”

I’m from Brazil, very hard to find a seller that does shipping available to my country :frowning:

I just get my brand new Behringer DX2000 ;D

buy the cheapest joystick and take the print inside conect the hardware buttons to the behringer with jack.
I asume that joysticks are avalible in Brazil

Hi henk,

Do you know how can I find for it? I have no idea… Please show me a website that sell this kind of jostick…

Thanks for join in the discussion.

Just any “USB gamepad”.

Hi Torben, I don’t know that I have to do with a USB game pad in my hands, what’s the next? Tutorial online available?

This is the huge problem for me…

I’m alone here and to do these stuff working is very hard :frowning:

Thanks for your comment

  1. Find someone who has knowledge about electronics and owns a soldering iron.

  2. Remove case from gamepad, solder cables at the points of the PCB where the button contacts are.

Very simple.

Here’s a video where someone did something similar (from minute 07:00). Just not for the DX2000 but with some buttons in the other end.

Hi Torben,

Indeed I have a basic knowledge about eletronic.

I will try myself to soldering the jacks and wires on pcb

Many thanks!

You could also buy the device you want, ship it to a friendly U.K mairlist user, who could then post it out to you in Brazil.

Just a thought.
