mAirList 7.4.8 – Playlist: container expand (+) and column headers availability?

Hello,

I am using mAirList 7.4.8 (Build 5855) and I would like to clarify two playlist-related UI topics, as I cannot find any official confirmation in the documentation.

1) Expanding containers directly in the playlist

Is there any way in mAirList 7.x to expand a Container directly inside the playlist (tree view with + / −), so that the contained items are visible inline?

I am aware that:

  • Containers can be opened via double-click / Enter

  • Or via Properties

But I am specifically asking whether inline expand/collapse inside the playlist is supported or planned in mAirList 7.x.

2) Playlist column headers

Is it possible in mAirList 7.x to display column headers at the top of the playlist, such as:

  • Time

  • Artist / Title

  • Duration

  • Year / Attributes

I could not find any option like:

  • Show column headers

  • Show playlist header row
    either in Settings, Layout Designer, or via playlist .ini parameters.

Is this:

  • Not supported by design in mAirList 7?

  • Or achievable only via a custom workaround (e.g. fixed text / comment row)?

Often asked for, but short answer for now: No! :cross_mark:

After your last request in January I asked Torben again if this is possible, because I found this very irritating for customers too and it was an often asked-for feature here in the forum.

It seems that some days ago he have found a solution to overcome the limitations of the used third-party implementation in v7 and v8! So this probably may finally coming in the next v8.1 beta :white_check_mark: :slight_smile:

Unfortunately I don’t know if there are plans to implement this in v7 as a new option too, sorry.
