I must say this looks great ! I cant wait to see how it works ! Graphical Cueing + visual Mix Editor + Playlist Edit Bar looks great ! Thanks dr. Weibert
Feature requests are always welcome (please use the forum with the same name), but the major feature set for v4.0 is pretty fixed now. Small features might still be added. It actually depends on what you have in mind.
(The problem about major features is that not only they’re time-consuming and tend to delay the release, but there’s always the risk that they break something else, which makes the whole thing even more time-consuming.)
There is one more “killer feature” that hasn’t been mentioned on the Wiki page yet, because I’m not sure if it will make it into v4.0. Let’s see…
Sounding realy realy great also that we can edit also from the playlist editor sounding realy great , that was i waiting for , for my station is this a great solution…
Great news. If you need beta tester I can try it
Some questions / Suggestions:
Is mix editor saves a preset between two tracks? For example in a playlist I have:
U2 - With Or Without You
followed by
AC / DC - Highway To Hell
So I can edit the perfect chaining between these two titles. But at the upcoming scheduling, is this chaining will it be stored?
Scheduling
Do you add some rules for scheduling between multistation ?
On two stations you have in common such artists as U2. Is there a rule that allows us to say:
for station 1 if U2 is passed during this hour, I’m not scheduling U2 in the station 2 during separation time (1hour for example)
Graphical Cueing
Very cool feature with waveforms it’s easiest to set cue markers.
Sweet, that too me is the killer feature. I also look forward to the more accurate mixdown. I’ve been experimenting with the Linux open source Rivendell and their Voicetracking module works really well and so easy to use, even if the log is on-air. No matter how I play with other software, I always come back to and rely on mAirlist for its power, flexibility, ease of use and stability.
Many forget that voicetracking is not just for unattended (i.e automation) broadcasting but useful for quickly prepping the next 20 minutes while you answer phones etc. We voicetrack from almost the beginning of a show on either split networks or if On Air for several hours start working backwards and VT the end of the show meeting ourselves somewhere in the middle.
On a split we may vt like this - the station name & freq for each part of the network and then the same live link for all stations before a vt out (again for each seperate station). Concentration is the name of the game.
Yes, think of IVP in V4 as doing your ‘initial VT prep.’ including the volume envelopes which. in V4, you WILL be able to edit visually (woo hoo!). You can then use the graphical editor to ‘fine tune’ the segues created by IVP.
Which I think gives you the best of both worlds: the total flexibility of a graphical editor combined with a ‘semi-intelligent robot’ (IVP) to do all the annoying and time-consuming stuff needed to get a VT’d Playlist ready for you to edit and ‘tweak.’
Obviously my opinion on this may be slightly biased, but I stand by it and would say that even if someone else had written IVP!
My gripe with other systems is that everything is pretty much manual (too much effort), and the ‘auto segues’ in other systems tend to be like your standard mAirList Automation mode ‘crossfades,’ and often without proper control of volume envelopes (if any!).
IVP + mAirList V4 will give you the ideal scenario: auto prep. plus full manual ‘twiddleability’ on top of that; meaning you can get the best possible results in the least total time. Sounds like an ideal state of affairs, from where I’m sitting.
