Hi, sure this is available but cannot see where.
Once you have linked items in a playlist, is it possible to get them by default to load into a dedicated player?
i.e. have a player that will only use linked items.

No, this is not possible by default. But you can additionally mark the linking item as “special” and use the “load only special items” feature.
