Layout

I was wondering if someone could help me design a layout similar to that of the AudioVAULT by BE.

Click the link for a screenshot of AVAIR (the playout of AudioVAULT)

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_35inFsC6IBM/SJzZKrvNzEI/AAAAAAAAAyQ/fzmoOAOG3MA/s400/Audiovault.jpg

The tabs along the top are different groups of audio files, and the players run along the side. once one player is done playing that file clears out and the next one moves to the top player.

Thanks!

Hi Matt, heres some pointers to try designing for yourself.

The browser on the right of the AV layout can be simulated in mAirList through the config tool. Look under GUI/browser and old-style browsers.

The playlist can be hidden by setting parameters of zero for the playlist height/width/position in the layout.ini (you need to enable playlists, even if you do not use them). Alternately use a stack of carts.

Hope this helps, much too busy at the moment to write for you.

Kind regards tony

I’m gonna bump this one…
I’ve messed around with getting the layout the way I want it, but it’s not workiing so well >:(

And to further explain the way AudioVAULT’s playout works= The tabs at the top (we use 15 in the AVAir where I work) are different categories, playlists, or history lists of audio files.

The “Playlist” tab, of course, has the current playlist

Then there’s a history tab (the current recycle bin in mAirList would work)

Then the rest of the tabs are different categories (effectivly folders) of audio ie. sweepers, legals, beds, music, etc.

The players go along the right side of the window…

Any help appreciated!

Matt, Tony’s correct: you can mimic the tabbed layout by changing the config option for ‘use old-style browsers.’ Naturally you will have to move the Browser to the left of the screen (!).

The main problems you will have are:

  1. In mAirList, you can’t specify the Playlist as a Browser tab unless it’s a database playlist. Even then, it won’t ‘update:’ it will be static. In other words, items won’t be ‘removed’ from it after they play out.
  2. You can’t specify different colours for the tabs: they will all be the same (usually grey) colour.
  3. If the ‘players’ in AVAir are displayed in sequence (current at top, and so on), and everything ‘moves one slot up’ the screen as each item finishes (similar to Jazler Radio), again there’s no way to ‘do that’ in mAirList. mAirList players are static, like those in Myriad: they don’t ‘sort’ into playout sequence as they go along.

Item 3 in particular is one of the few things which are impossible to mimic in mAirList. The closest you will get is to hide all the Players and put the mAirList Playlist there. Even if you do that, you won’t be able to get the mAirList Playlist to look like very much like the AVAir players.

Hope that helps?

Alright, I’ll keep messing around with the browser then… thanks for all the help explaining everything!
