I may be wrong, but I thought that the UK English text for mAirList was part of the EXE?
When I install a new copy of mAirList (without the en-GB Locale file), it uses US English unless I create a locale folder and en-GB subfolder (with the correct file in it). The PC does have a regional setting of UK and not US. ;D
No, it’s not included yet. I still need to find a way to automate the inclusion of language files provided by external translators. (The German language file is stored in the main source code branch currently, so it’s much easier to compile that into the .exe file as part of the build process, and I want to avoid using SVN externals because it slows down the update/commit process so much.)
I’d like to know how to change the language of mAirList. I tried to find .mo or .po files on mairlist.com/download but I only found mairlist.pot (the empty template).
More, I tried to check out the “localization SVN” on secure.mairlist.com/svn/l10n/trunk but it seems to be unavailable. Reading this thread, I guess the localization process in mAirList is still ongoing but not anymore on this SVN server…
So my questions are:
is it possible to localize mAirList 3.1.0 (v751)? and How? (we could update the wiki for 3.1.0 with the good URL)
where are located the translated mairlist.po files? Is it possible to download them?
Someone else was working on a French translation, but it looks like he has never finished it. I have a translation file that is about 60% complete. I will send you that file by e-mail, and if you like, you can complete the translation and send the file back to me. That would be highly appreciated.
The file that I send you is the text catalog (mAirList.po) file. It must be saved in the “locale\fr\LC_MESSAGES” folder (to be created by you) as described in the Wiki. Use poEdit to work on the file. When you save it in poEdit, the binary catalog mAirList.mo will be created automatically and used by mAirList at the next startup.
Hi,
Thanks a lot. I received the file and it works great… I’m working on it and will of course send it back to you! I think it will take a while, but I’m pretty sure I’ll do it with a friend of mine and we’re going to do a great french localization!
First complete draft in approx two days!
Cheers
Nicolas
