Hi all,
i came across the following issue, whenever i connect up my IO-Warrior to my computer, mAriist play out halts, the IO-Warrior is properly recognized, and even if i remove it from the mAirlist configuration completely, players will not start when it is connected to my computer.
whenever i remove the IO-Warrior, and restart mAirlist, everything works.
mAirlist sees the IO-Warrior correct, and i can configure commands to it with remote control IO=Warrior configuration, the players respond to the input they just do not start playing, with the mixer buttons, or via mouse input.
is this a knows issue? and if so, what should i do to fix this.
Thanks in advance.
Is the soundcard also attached via USB, or is it an internal one?
Good evening Torben, thank you for your reply,
my soundcard is indeed an external one, i made sure that it resides on a different hub as the IO-Warrior though.
on a more positive note, i just connected the IO-Warrior to my G19 Keyboard usb hub, and that seems to work okay.
The only reason i can think of is that this is because the usb hub on my G19 keyboard is a powered one.
i wait for a powered usb hub to loan for a few minutes and test it with that, i let you know if this solves the problem.
thanks for your support…
regards,
Marcel
Have a look at the IOWarrior forums at www.codemercs.com - there are various reports that the board doesn’t work on particular USB hubs, although it’s not quite clear which hubs work and which don’t, apparently it’s not a powered vs. unpowered thing.
A powered hub would be a good choice anyway. A single USB port can supply 500mA. With a four-port unpowered hub the power must be shared among all ports, so you only have 100 mA for each port, plus 100mA for the hub. With a powered hub, each port can drain the full 500mA.
Update:
It works flawless with a external powered USB hub
issue fixed
thanks Torben,
have a good weekend.
