I’m using mairlist with an ableton launchpad. When version 8 is starting the device gives the message invalid device in log.
I use the launchpad and configured it as a midi controller (it’s in the config also visible as launchpad). Furthermore i use a script for coloring the buttons on the launchpad. I can use the buttons but the script isn’t working because it’s recognizing the launchpad and therefore can give the colors to the buttons.
When I run version 7 everything works fine. In the log of version 7 I see the device launchpad where in the log of version 8 invalid device is displayed.
Which build do you run? There have been some v8-issues with Midi in the past which should be sorted by now, however.

Just installed version 8.0.2 Build 6022 (2026-01-22). Still receiving the message “invalid device”.
Can use launchpad (configured as midi) to start en stop by hitting buttons. Only coloring script isn’t working due to invalid device.
So in de config I can select de launchpad as midi controlling it even shows the name. But scripting doesn’t work. At start-up something isn’t going well to address de launchpad as a device which can be addressed in de script.
