I’ve had this happen a few times, maybe once every three shows or so that I record, and I can’t re-create it or repeat on-demand.
I create my one hour shows, I Voice-Track, Mix-Edit each link, preview, Save and move on. Then at the end I do a mixdown. One show in three or so, will have one link where the song finishes, and the VT track will start then, so I can hear the studio noise, me sniffing etc, then my link. So, if I start the VT with 10ssecs before end of track A, then speak, it slides the VT to physically start the end of A track.
So, in case I was not saving something properly, I did last my two shows with a very close eye, and last night, after mixdown, one VT link had slipped…
Ok, so it’s like the Start Next marker of track A (set to the position where the mic is turned on) is lost? So the voice track doesn’t start until the EOF of track A?
When you check track A in the Cue Editor, is the marker still there?
In other words: Is the marker actually gone, or does Mixdown just ignore it?
Playout window. When I do my next show, I’m going to check each VT before I do the mixdown. See if I see anything untoward! As I say, it’s so random, so not sure if I’m clicking something too early etc.
I’ve been very careful in my order of pressing/clicking buttons and I’ve had no problems. I’m wondering if I’m clicking something whilst a thread is doing something sometimes (too quick!) and that may cause these odd effects. I’ll try my next show “normally”
