Incorporating Windows Environment variables in logging paths

A general configuration question.

I am looking into creating a log file to include an ident of the PC that created it

Is it possible to include a windows environment variable (such as %USERNAME%) in a logging path in much the same way as %Y-%M-%D can be included in the filename?
