First, let me explain the context :
When I download my new songs from Muzicenter (a french provider of brand new songs for FMs and web radios), I get the mp3 file, the cover (a jpg file) and I can also get all the metadata (mp3 tag) from a xml file (example attached). The mp3 that I get has no tag all, all is kept within the xml file.
My question is : does mairlist offer a way of importing all the metadata into the corresponding song ?
Some fields may not be present in the database but they can be created, I reckon.
I am running mairlist professional v6.0.6. (waiting for the 6.2 to be released before upgrading )
Ok, these XML files are similar to mAirList’s MMD files (which are also in XML format, but that doesn’t mean a thing). I could add support for them. Question is, is it worth the effort. Is this service widely used in France?
Ulii, thanks for the tip and the link. It seems related to my question and it’s worth having a look at this solution.
Torben, it’s difficult to say if Muzicenter is widely used, but it’s the first professional service set up by the major record labels. I know lots of people using it.
BTW this xml file can be downloaded in 3 flavours : one for Selector, and two for 2 different broadcasting software : OpenRadio and WinRadio. Data are the same, only the fields names and format are different.
Thanks for the files. The ones supposed to be for Selector and WinMedia seem to be exactly the same. Can you confirm that they are identical, or did you make a mistake?
