How to add a Comment or TextNote item?

There is a separate Playlist icon for a Comment item, but there doesn’t seem to be a method any more to manually add a Comment or TextNote to the Playlist by using the Insert menu.

Did I imagine it, or was there at one time a Comment item in the Insert menu on the main toolbar?

Are you talking about Dummy playlist items?

No, although I realise that a Dummy performs a similar function.

I can’t follow why there is an (optional) icon_comment.png if there isn’t such a thing as a Comment item in the Playlist? What does icon_comment get used for?

Looks like that icon_dummy is defined but not used at the moment. If I remember correctly, there were plans to use that as an indicator that a comment is set for a particular item. But now, we’re using the small arrow buttons provided by Virtual Treeview to expand and collapse the nodes.
