Hi, hopefully one for the programmers - a script to run when reached in a playlist and look ahead X minutes for audio tagged with hooks.
Ideally it should look for x number of hooks within the playlist and play them so (in this instance looking for 3 hooks in the next 25 minutes):
Hook opener (This is ABC FM etc)
Hook
Hook Sweeper (favourite music ?)
Hook
Hook sweeper
Hook
Hook Closer (favourite music ABC FM etc)
Just like a music positioner/stager.
Should it fail to find the number of hooks specified it hopefully could also play any hooks it finds but be clever enough to see that it may have only played 2 hooks and put the Hook Closer in place of a Hook Sweeper.
This way stations could constantly simulate fresh imaging without extra expense of renewing jingles etc on a regular basis. Just add new music tagged with hooks.

This is what a hook container does, but there is no (easy) way of creating one from a script yet.
Regarding the “look-ahead”, let’s see what the scripting experts say
Hi Torben, thank you for the pointer to hook containers. Here is 1 possible solution without a script;
With a music schedulers hat on:
Create a folder just of image songs that highlight the music format you wish to achieve. The songs in the folder perhaps called Core Image ,all having hooks within them. You would likely then schedule 4 songs per hour from this selection during the majority of programmes (2 in each half an hour).
A second folder called Alt Image or Secondary Image again with hooks in the music files called would contain more image songs but this time an alternate hit by artists in the Core Image folder. From here use 2 songs per hour.
These songs should be changing on a regular basis unless you are an oldie station, but to ensure songs/hooks do not repeat too often the core image folder will need perhaps 25 songs, the alt image folder around 17 songs. Obviously if you feel songs still repeat too often, increase the number of songs in each folder, its important if scheduling even numbers of songs per hour to use an odd number of songs in the folder (more about this another time).
Create a hook container in each half an hour prior to the hooked audio playing. Remember to set the hook opener etc in the config/misc/file repository.
Specialist shows such as Country you would need to create Hooks in the songs that were big hits or instantly recognisable as a Country song.
