Glitch In GUI Screen Objects Time & Countdown Fonts

So I was playing around changing fonts and their options in the GUI Screen Objects section of the Config App and noticed a problem. V8.0.11 Build 6049

I use Date & Countdown to display this:

Which works fine with the default font, but depending what fonts you choose here:

The line of ‘Time’ started to shrink and expand lengthwise. For example, when a number hits ‘1’ the whole line shrinks, and as soon as it hits a thicker number like ‘2’ the whole line expands. So it’s bouncing around and looks terrible. This must be a padding issue, if that’s the correct term. I’m not sure how to explain this, but for example go into this section and try using the Bahnschrift font and you will see what I mean. Then if you open the main mAirlist window it will also be shifting left and right depending on the numbers physical shape/thickness.

Can we get a fix for this? Should be pretty easy. Thanks!

I updated to v8.1.1 Build 6106 and the issue persists.

Actually I noticed it on other areas of the program like:

2026-10-10_005525

All these times using that font are moving and resizing themselves in each of these locations.

Plus the ‘AM’ is getting cut off next to the grey ‘!’ Icon.

If you do not want to have this behaviour you must use a font that supports monosaced figures.

Oh? How we know which are monosaced? Isn’t there a way to fix/correct this behavior so we can use any font or is this a universal issue even outside mAirlist?

It‘s monospaced indeed, sorry. Yes, it depends on the font itself. Best way is to try out different ones and see.

GIYF :man_shrugging:

There are proportional fonts which do include two sets of figures: one for typing text and a monospaced one for tables and the like. So the font itself doesn’t have to be monospaced in its entirety.

So basically there is no way to address this from a programming point of view to prevent the moving characters inside mAirlist?
