Freeware Silence Detector

Hi All,
I came across a freeware silence detecting software, that already saved us from embarrassing moments twice in a month ::slight_smile:

It’s called Pira CZ Silence Detector and can be set up to alert you in various ways.

I have written a little php script that interfaces with an SMS gateway, so whenever our signal falls below -30dB for longer than 20s me and our station manager get sent an SMS.

If anyone’s interested I can release the script, although it will only work with a specific SMS gateway called ASPSMS, but would be easy enough to adapt to other providers…

Now I just need to figure out a way of remote controling mAirlist when I’m down the pub, and I’m a happy bunny ;D

That Pira CZ Silence Detector is actually a Godsend! It has saved us from dead air on a number of occasions and saves us suffering from long outages after power cuts! It comes on after 10 seconds and plays a set playlist in Winamp infinitely. I recieve an e-mail when it gets set off.

Highly recommened.
