Hello,
In mAirList DB it is possible to export the entire database or a selection to a .csv file. I tried it and it works fine, except that the order of the exported fields seems to be a little bit strange, random so to say. Is it possible to define the fields that have to be exported and the order of these fields? Also, can the “name” of the fields (in the first row of the exported .csv file) be changed to something that is more usefull when importing the .csv file into other programs like music scheduling programs?
E.g.:
Title -->Title
Artist -->Artist
ExternalID -->Cart
FileName -->AudioFileLocation
etc…
Also for the Attributes that were added to the database.
Thanks for your help
Frank
The order of the first few columns - up to and including the cue markers - is fixed.
The other columns, used for the attributes, can be in random order, that’s true. That’s because they are dynamically built from the name/value pairs used as attributes for the particular items.
One thing I could do is to make the Standard Attributes come first (in the order defined in the database), and then any other attributes that appear in any of the items, in random order. Would that help?
The names of the fields in the first row cannot be changed.
Thanks for your reply, Torben.
I have asked more or less the same question to the people of Music1, which is the music scheduler I use and to which database I want to import the files exported by mAirList. This way, I only have to set all the parameters only once and that would save a lot of time. I will keep you posted about their answer as I allready sent them your reaction to my question.
Frank
Try build 2767 please (being uploaded right now).
Hi Torben,
Thanks. This looks much better now.
I just find it annoying that I have to shut down all the instances of mAirList on the server before I can install the upgrade or even copy mAirList.exe over the existing one. And then restart all the instances of course. Is this something that could be changed in the future, i.e. that updates could be done while mAirList keeps running?
Frank
You cannot replace the mAirList.exe file while the program is still running…
Yes, I know. But it’s frustrating that one has to take all the instances / radio stations off air for every update.
If you install a demoversion of a second license on a seperate computer, you can play your playlists from there during the update on your major system. You know, use a backupsystem. Radiostations always need a backupsystem.
