ERROR LOADING PLAYLIST

Is there a simple explanation as to why i create a playlist on one version of mairlist on one computer and then when i go to open the playlist on another computer, the playlist loads but all the tracks have errors. so, the playlist doesnt work.

I dont use a network, just two different computers.

Hi!

The mp3 files at the second computer must have the same path with the same driveletter and must be in the same subfolder.

Reporting the error code (displayed in the players in the current v2.1 versions) would be very helpful.

So you’ve got 2 PCs with identical audio and hard-drive configurations ? If so, it should work. My studio PC has a 2nd HD for audio - it’s set to D: and set as a Shared Drive - all the network PCs have that “share” mapped as D: as well.

So, D:\Songs\Abba - Dancing Queen.mp3 would always revert to the studio PC no matter what PC it was called from.

Similar config at eldoradio*: M: is mapped to the music folder on the server on every workstation - except for the studio pc, where M: is a local hard disk partition keeping a 1:1 copy of the files.

hi, i have all my audio saved on an external hardrive which i just plug into whichever computer i want. the playlist is also saved onto the hardrive so it is always there and the same.

It only seems to load the playlist though on the computer that it was made on, rather than on any computer.

will see if i can get an error message, but i dont recall getting one. i just open the playlist, all the tracks show but then next to each file it tells me error!!!

In the latest v2.1 versions, the error code is displayed in the players, where you would usually see the artist and title.

You have to make sure that the external hard drive has the same drive letter on all systems, as this is an essential part of the file path. When plugged in, Windows automatically assignes a free drive letter to the disk. You can later change it by right-clicking My Computer, clicking Manage and starting “Disk Management” from the “Storage” category. You can then right-click the disk and choose “Change drive letter and paths”.
