Database creation problem

I can’t create a database. The mAirList system creates an incorrect path name. I tried to create the file myself, but nothing works. Do you have any suggestions to resolve my problem? I’ve attached an image.

Thank you for your help.

Hi @Biloutte71 , welcome to the forum!

Thank you for the screenshots!

I just tested the behaviour - it seems that (only) in the french translation there is a wrong filetype suffix set if you try to setup a new database (so it will read

*whatever.mldb,.lmldb

as a database name).

I tried this in the french version: Removed the wrong suffix when creating the new database so the database name is only “whatever.mldb” and it worked for me.

Can you try this please when creating a new database and confirm, if it works for you?

Stefan

Hello, Stefan,

I tried renaming the file to whatever.mldb and removing the extra space at the end, but when creating the database, it still gives me the error.

I tried creating a mAirList folder in the root of the C drive, but when I open the software, it can’t find the path to the file and gives me an error.

I don’t know what else to do! How can I get an English version if it doesn’t work on the French version?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

I did notice @torben the developer about the bug.

He instantly fixed it and uploaded a new snapshot.

Could you download it and give it a try?

https://download.mairlist.com/current/mAirList/v7.4/snapshot/

Then please delete all database entries in the system configuration and start over bei creating a totally new database. Name it according to your needs.

Close the system configuration. Open the database app and it should work.

Please report back!

Good evening Stefan,

Thank you for your quick response and the link!

Should I uninstall the current version 7.4.4 or should I overwrite it?

Biloutte

Overwriting should be fine here

Good evening Liam,

The database is created correctly, but when I try to test it in the configurator, it says access denied, and in mairlist, it says the database isn’t connected. It’s okay, I put it on another drive, and now it works!

However, I still have a question. I activated the encoder with the stream information, and when I’m on mairlist, the encoder doesn’t appear.

Is this normal?

Thank you for your valuable help, community.

You must have the encoder connected via an event, for example. The whole thing would also work via actions or screen objects. See:

https://wiki.mairlist.com/features:encoder

Actions or events are not necessarily to connect the encoder with the streaming server.

@Biloutte71 just add the screen object

and then click the “connect” button in the encoder screen object itself. Please make sure that the stream is checkmarked as active:

Here is a more detailed description (This is work in progress and will be the new Manual so not all sections are working yet!):

Hello community,

Thank you for your valuable information, Stefan and Liam!

Despite your good advice, I still haven’t found the audio return coming out of my Airlite mixer to use the Mairlist encoder. However, I did find the encoder

When you don’t know much about technology, it’s complicated! The program is also new to me because I was using StationPlaylist Pro before, but I wanted a program that was 100% native and compatible with the mixer.

Okay, let’s skip this point, which is on hold for now because I need to move on a bit. My question is how can I retrieve or create a text file so that the current track is retrieved by Butt, because I need to send it to my feed so that my website history is updated?

Sorry to ask questions that may seem stupid

Unfortunately, I searched for information in French on the internet and YouTube, but found nothing!

Thank you for your dedication and patience with newbies like me.

It’s good, I found it with journalism and my site, but it’s up to date now.

The Airlite has three outputs, one of them ist the master sum (this needs to be the input for the Encoder), one is the VoIP out (when you tests the connection just increase and decrease the „VoIP Send“ knob and the audio level will change" and one is the Voice Track out.

There is no need for BUTT as the mAirList encoder can handle this perfectly.

In the encoder just set the Metadata output to i.e. %a - %b to send metadata of “Artist - Title”

If you definitely want to use BUTT mAirList brings other logging capabilities. In the system configuration just define the logging you need within the logging section…
