Is it possible for auto importer to NOT move files out of the folder being imported from but just copy the files in the folder instead? As theres files in our News Provider’s Folder that we need access to but it moves the files out of the folder. thank you
Well, exactly that - deleting the original file - was the idea when the feature came up:
mAirListDB Auto Importer will watch one or more folders on your harddrive for new audio files, and import/upload them into mAirListDB, deleting the original file from disk.

Please create an element in your database for these news and let it be actualised by an event (download file) regularly.
Okay, let me find out how you do it at the moment.
Please tell me how you insert the news file from your provider to the playlist right now.
- How often are the news loaded from the folder?
- When do you download them (due to TOTH)?
- Has the news file always the same name?
- Is this file listed in the database for use in the hour template?
- Do you use the news container or are you planning to use it?
Thank you.
- How often are the news loaded from the folder? Every Hour
- When do you download them (due to TOTH)? They come into the dropbox folder every hour
- Has the news file always the same name? Yes all files stay the same
- Is this file listed in the database for use in the hour template? Yes it is
- Do you use the news container or are you planning to use it? I Don’t
Its actually Adverts they put in there that we need to distribute to presenters when they come in weekly, that’s why I asked if its possible for auto-importer not to delete the original file in the folder.

Great!
I understand the problem.
For this purpose you need something else; there is an idea we are thinking about, but it is not yet ready for the market. Let me speak to my boss next week whether we can find another solution for you in the meantime.
The Auto Importer has a “what to do if file with that name already exists” setting, including an option to overwrite the existing file. If that helps.
@Torben yes it has but that doesn’t do much it just don’t add the new file into the database but still deletes original file. besides we need the new file in the database too we just need it to not delete original file if possible
