Crackling disturbing sound after 6-8 hours of operation

Since we upgraded to v8 both of our servers are producing a crackling disturbing sound on top of the music playout after 6-8 hours into the start of operations. We have optimized all energy settings already without success, even though this was not necessary before.

The only way to return to a normal sound playout is to shut MairList down and to restart the software. Both servers have different hardware, but are producing the same problem, so the issue most likely is software based. Non technically speaking the problem seems to build up over time, since it never happens on startup.

Any idea what we should look into?

I’ve had this problem before, but after 3 to 4 hours playout already. As the hardware itself wasn’t overly obsolete (albeit not highest performance) I sent in my sound device for service, only to learn that it was working impeccably. Ultimately I changed the hardware for a more powerful device and had no more problems whatsoever since.

This is not what I do recommend you but my experience with this topic. Issues like these have been reported in the forum at least once, you might have a go at the search.

Well, this hardware is brand new. The MairList process requires 5% max of computing power according to task manager. The very same machined has been running fine nonstop from November until April. Those problems started out of the blue. This is very likely a software or driver issue, we have just no idea left what else to look for.
