Connection Issue with Axeltech 3000+

Good day,

hope someone can help.
We have connection issues with the Axeltech 3000+ digital mixer.

After a while, faderstart on 1 channel does not work anymore, the start button on the mixxer still works. Also audio is coming through as it should be.

After another while fader start on next fader stops working.

We already checked anything we think it could but the issue remains.
Mixer and Mairlist are connected via Dante and an UDP box.
Mairlist 7.3.6 is installed, the pro version.

In the logs I see this coming a lot of times

I hope someone has a suggestion

To understand your setup:

Remote control from the Oxygen is done with the remote control interface of the same name (“Axel Tech Oxygen 1000/2000/3000”) in mAirList?

What is this UDP box for?

Hi Torben, thank you for your reaction. I will check why the UDP box is used, the seller (i can send you the company of topic if you want) mentioned this was needed. I asume it is for the commands.

Axeltech mixer and Mairlist / Dante are in a seperate network apart from the “normal network”

Could, and read could, there be any difference if the bought software is aircast instead of mine Mairlist?

Is it correct that Mairlist handles start only as 1 command? So fader start and knob start are mapped in the interface to one Mairlist command?

Thank you s much in advance for your time. We have a great playout software and a great mixer and just trying to eliminate causes and get everything to work fine

The UDP box was in the network to switch a relais out of the mixer, I learned the box was already removed from the network to eliminate this UDP box could cause the issue.

Indeed we have the Axeltech remote control active and set up in Mairlist.

AIRCAST is an OEM product sold by D&R and only supports remote control protocols for D&R mixers (plus the generic stuff like hotkeys and gamepads).

The Axeltech remote is TCP based, which means that it cannot “miss” any packets. So if only one out two players/faders is reacting, it is most likely that the mixer is not sending the commands anyway.

Are you familiar with Wireshark? You could try to record the TCP session and check what commands the console is sending.

Thank you Torben, I did not know Wireschrank but will dive in to it. I will report here the uotcomes.

Good morning,

The problem still exists and here is what we have done so far:

  1. Axeltech completely replaced the Oxygen 3000+ mixer
  2. Axeltech and Mairlist PC are in a complete seperated network, so the Mairlist pc is not connected to internet or anything else
  3. All drivers of the Mairlist PC are updated
  4. Mairlist is reinstalled (with existing configs)

I have some specific questions to eliminate some things.

  1. In the mixer you start player with a button OR with the fader. Are these 2 different commands which are mapped to 1 command within the Axeltech interface in Mairlist, or is it already comming out of the table as 1 command?
  2. Is there an explanation why we can resolve the issue, temporarely, by restarting Mairlist? Restarting the table is not solving the problem.
  3. We will now go ahead with Wireshark, we have to figure out some things  , is it correct to assume that within Wireshark we should be able to see the commands going in and out between Mairlist and the mixer with time stamps?
  4. If we would download a trial version of Mairlist to another PC, to eliminate PC errors and/or config errors, will the Axeltech integration be there in that trial version?

Thank you so much for your time in andvance, we know issues are not always common but as we have state of the art playout software and a stat of the art mixer we just want to make everything work

Good morning, this topic can be closed.
After 2 weeks of testing everything is working fine.

The solution was indeed the exchange of the mixer, everything is working smooth now.
