Cartwall repeats on start of jingle

Hi,

I use mAirList 6.xx with a D&R Airlite. PC is a Intel Core i5 with 8GB memory and a 256GB SSD and 500GB HDD. Software is on the SSD music on the HDD.

When I start a jingle in carwall it repeats at the start. It happens with all the jingles.
So I press start and the first second of the jingle repeats 3 to 4 times before it plays the complete jingle.

Does anybody have any tips?

Using the built-in Airlite audio devices? They are known to be buggy, depending on the type of USB controller, especially when you use more than one at a time. You can try to switch between DirectSound and WASAPI and check if it makes any difference.

This is what I have setup.
In the control panel I have changed the WASAPI settings in Mode: Exclusive Sample rate: 48000 Channel count: 2 Buffer size: 50ms Update period: 0ms.

I have changed the audio device settings from directsound to WASAPI.
It seems that the problem has disappeared.

Are the settings that I put in WASAPI correct or do I have to change them?

You should use shared mode if possible.

I solved the problem.
I left all audio on DirectSound execpt Cartwall. I put that one on WASAPI.
I changed the BufferSize settings for WASAPI for that channel in 100ms.
Now it works correct.

I tried to set all audio from DirectSound to WASAPI but than I had a anoying beep in my speakers and the Cartwall frooze for a second.
Now I don’t have the beep and Carwall doesn’t repeat or freezes.

Hope that someone else can use this.

Update…

I still had the problem from time to time.
Last week my pc died and I had to replace it by another one.
With this PC I do not have any problem with the cartwall anymore.

So the conclusion is that it was a hardware related problem of the pc.
I now have all channel running via WASAPI on the Airlite.
