Hi,
I have done a bit of searching and can’t seem to find that this has been discussed elsewhere so I thought I’d post about it!
We are in the process of ripping out a (very expensive) playout system that doesn’t work for us and I’ve been trying to sell the benefits of mAirList as a replacement - however the client has asked a pretty good question that I can’t seem to answer.
In the system we use, when you launch a cart from the cartwall, instead of playing on its own player it actually loads into one of the four ‘main’ players - usually player 4 (which is not used by automation) - and so it’s very easy to see which of the 4 faders on the mixing desk the sound is coming from. This also means that you can’t fire off too many carts - so you couldn’t have 8 carts playing at the same time sounding awful over each other as there wouldn’t be enough players to support this.
This method seems to make sense and I would like to adopt it if possible in whichever system we choose to use.
Is there some sort of way that the Cartwall in mAirList can be configured in this way? I.e. when you click the cart on the cartwall, it sends the ‘loaded’ cart to a specific player attached to a specified playlist rather than playing on its own? Would this be possible with commands maybe?
Happy new year to all!
