I am having intermittent problems playing Carts using V5.1. I am not using a touch screen, but the good old fashioned (?) mouse.
The problem is that if I click any Cart they will not play, it appears it is not recognizing the mouse position.
I have 6 carts and several pages of jingles. The “pages” react when clicked, as does the toolbar in the cartwall, but I can click a cart several times before it will play. If I do a test with just the cartwall it will play 100%, however, after a period of use with 2 players running as well it then exhibits this problem. I also have Audacity and a peak programme meter running too. The problem did not exist with V5.0.
My, non programming, explanation is this. If I hover the mouse over a button in a player, it gives me the “tool tip” to show it is recognizing the mouse position, and will activate if selected. These buttons are relatively small, but the Carts are relatively large by comparison and I wonder if this is the reason?
When you say it is intermittent, does it possibly depend on the exact mouse position within the cart? Whether it’s over the title, time, progress bar., etc? Can you check that please?
I have made some changes to the mouse click handling recently (to reenable dragging from the cartwall into the playlist for those who need that). I recall it was quite a fiddling around with all the different objects inside the cart and their mouse events. Perhaps I made a mistake somewhere.
I’ve only had time to do some short duration checks without much success so far, but I will keep trying. In general I would aim to click right in the centre of each cart, which is over the title.
I was hoping someone else had noticed this also, maybe in the German forum.
I’ve tried this again using various locations within the Cart, and I cannot pin it to any particular point, sorry. I can say it fails on the first click, and sometimes more then one click.
Update.
This time last week I was getting intermittent failures as described.
Today, I have just recorded a 2 hour show without any failure; this time I turned off the “Allow dragging of items to playlist”.
