Browser issue

Hi Torben

Is it possible to make the browser options permanand in the mairlist player. Now we have to add it every time when we start mairlist up.
Is this already possible ? I am using on my homestudio pc mairlist 4.1 1428 now

If you set up the browser the way you want it then save ‘desktop as default template’ I believe that will do what you want.

Ron.

Hi Ron

Thanks for the information. What i want is a permanent browser for example the music folders and a separate for the jingles folder.

It is the browser for folder three ./ clock / comment viewer. Thats what i want to make permanent , so now when we close mairlist of when we shut down the studio pc after a live broadcast and mairlist starts up again we have to add it manualy again. For me it is no problem but i have some dj’s also what finding it a little bit not plesant to put it up again . Sorry for my english( its late)

Goos: make sure in Configuration, Browser that these two options are selected (checked):

Save within desktop files (.mld)
Save within desktop templates (.mlt)

Then in Miscellaneous, Runtime Features, select (check):

Save default desktop in main toolbar

Then in GUI, General, select (check):

Show save confirmation

Finally, Save the Configuration.

Open mAirList and set up the Browser to contain the entries you want (music folder and jingles folder, clock, comment viewer: whatever you want!); and remember you can have only one Browser in mAirList, regardless of how many Playlists you have. Then as Ron correctly says, Save Desktop as default template; then close mAirList.

Open mAirList again and check that the Browser is as you left it, then close mAirList again.

Now open Configuration and clear (un-check) all the options mentioned above. This will prevent anyone overwriting your Browser setup by accident.

One thing I would like to see saved with the Browser settings are the column header widths. I’m always resizing the title/artist ones to make it readable for me, so I would love it if they could stick. Not the end of the world, just a nice to have.

Richard, I don’t think that is possible, but I know what you mean. The .mlt file would need to contain column widths for each pane in the Browser (if you think about it), and I don’t know how easy or difficult that would be. For example, if your ‘standard’ Browser setup (like mine) has an LED Clock pane in it!
