I’m curious as to why the duration of an automation break point is based on the time it takes to arrive at that item from the start of the playlist?

Break points do not have a duration of their own, but rather display the duration between the last break point (or the beginning of the playlist) in the “Duration” column of the playlist GUI.
I find it very useful - Especially if I need to ensure that “segments” of shows are the right duration - and it saves “doing the sums” from the Backtiming column
