Backwards compability of differing versions

Hi, is anyone else suffering the same problems?

We have several different versions of mAirList 2.1.41 onwards, problems arise when you swap between locations.

For instance at the studio we are succesfully using 2.1.42 at home I am still on version 2.1.41. However once I have run the later version the arlier version when started returns the following in a windows dialog:

Exception Processing Message C0000013 Parameters 75b6f9c 4 75b6bf9c 7b6bf9c

Cancelling the dialog and eventually mAirList loads ok.

Having recently downloaded version 2.1.44, the problem now extends to version 2.1.42. Its annoying when you like to keep an older working version and layout as a reserve.

This problem I original found and reported in this thread:

However it seemd to disappear with a snapshot release.

Kind Regards Tony

One copy of mAirList - when installed into a different folder - should not affect any other copy, because they do not share any DLLs or config.

If you want to have several versions installed at the same time, you should always prefer the ZIP release over the setup.exe, unzip the file to a new folder, and then manually copy the config from the older version, adjusting it as needed (see the change log for possible changes).

I haven’t found out the reason for that strange error message yet.

Hi Torben, thanks for looking at this. I have spent an hour or so playing with this today.

I think it may be related to the soundcards, it seems most likely to occur when zipping the studio version up and then trying to use it at home. Having checked a backed up copy made in February on the home PC (external drive) this works OK.

The studio uses a 7.1 soundcard with mAirList configured to use the outs as individual outputs rather than surround sound. The test PC just a single onboard soundcard.

Removing the entries in the device.ini and saving this solves things, however now we cannot access the player settings (we can click on playlist but no option to go further) in the config dialog to set the soundcard.

This I’m sure you will find puzzling.

Kind Regards Tony

btw: I always use the zipped version as a download.
